CMCS Fellow joins Italian ministerial think-tank as consultant on new media

Stefania Milan

CMCS Research Fellow Stefania Milan will be a consultant on new media to the Italian Minister of Education, University and Research, Francesco Profumo. She has been selected from among some 600 applications to serve in a think-tank on innovation to work closely with the Ministry.

The think-tank, composed of six young researchers, will contribute to the development of policies in the field of innovation and education, including new media, open data, social innovation and e-government. The think-tank will also help restructure the Ministry of Education, finding ways to engage with the 30 million people, including students, teachers and parents, concerned with education in Italy. The Ministry is part of the technocratic cabinet lead by Prime Minister Mario Monti, established in November 2011 following the resignation of Silvio Berlusconi.
